Nowhere on this planet is there such a varied collection of wild seashore. The Channel Islands have surf beaches to match anywhere. "Cornish Coves", fishermen's harbours, chines to Sandy Coves between rocky headlands, caves, reefs extending to 3 miles offshore. Rock pools, some even big enough to swim in. All of these are without intrusive roads, groins etc., and enjoy wild life and flora like wild cabbage, still growing at high tide mark. The views from the seashore footpaths to 360 degrees of the compass are just incomparable. No traffic jams, No charges for car parks, No trouble finding a parking place. Excellent public toilets in good clean working order close to well run beach Kiosks for teas, buckets and spades, beach balls, kites and windmills. Excellent fishing off the rocks just anywhere.

The Channel Island weather is like the South East of England without the frosts, half the rainfall of Cornwall. And always a refreshingly healthy sea breeze, muggy London days? Not here!

Regular flights and boats from England and near Europe at reasonable rates, and once you're here you don't risk the `neighbours & relations' coming down for the day.

Why do you think people who could live anywhere and who have been everywhere, like Alan Whicker, choose to live here?

Guernsey has 5 `clean beach' flags, pictures taken Easter w/e 2004. The black on the rocks, (which are normally red or blue granite) here is oil.
